Terms of Service
Last updated: March 18, 2026
The Short Version
You pay $97/month. We build and manage your website. You can cancel anytime — your site stays live until the end of your billing period. If you want to take your website files with you, there may be a transfer fee (details below). We handle content updates, but the really big stuff gets quoted separately. No surprises, no hidden fees.

1. Agreement to Terms
By subscribing to TradesWebsites.ca services or using our website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you're signing up on behalf of a business, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
TradesWebsites.ca is operated by Ryley, a sole proprietor based in British Columbia, Canada.
2. What's Included
Your $97/month subscription includes:
Professional website design — a custom-built site tailored to your trade and location
Hosting — fast, secure website hosting included at no extra charge
Unlimited content updates — text changes, photo swaps, updated contact info, new service areas, and similar content edits (see definition below)
Performance and security maintenance — we keep your site running smoothly
Up to 1 new page per month — for example, a new service area page or additional service page
Support — reach us by email anytime with questions or requests
What "Unlimited Content Updates" Means
"Unlimited content updates" means reasonable text, image, and layout changes to your existing website — such as updating a phone number, swapping a photo, adding a testimonial, or editing service descriptions. Updates are typically completed within 2–3 business days.
This does not include full page redesigns, adding new multi-page sections, custom functionality, or requests that constitute a rebuild of the site. We'll always let you know if a request falls outside a standard update.
What's Not Included (But Available)
Some bigger projects go beyond the scope of a monthly subscription. These are always quoted separately upfront — no surprises:
Full page redesigns or complete site restructures
Custom functionality (booking systems, e-commerce, client portals, etc.)
More than 1 new page per month
Logo design or full branding packages
Third-party integrations beyond what's included in your plan
We'll always discuss pricing with you before starting any additional work. You'll never be charged for something you didn't agree to.
3. Billing & Payment
Your subscription is billed monthly at $97 CAD through Stripe
Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel
We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
If a payment fails, we'll reach out by email. If payment remains unresolved after 15 days, your website may be taken offline until the balance is settled
Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice by email. You can cancel before any price increase takes effect
4. Satisfaction Guarantee & Cancellation
30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
If you're not happy with our service within the first 30 days of signing up, you can request a full refund of your first month's payment. To request a refund, email us at ryley@tradeswebsites.ca within 30 days of your sign-up date. If a refund is requested before your site has launched, your site will not be published.
7-Day Launch Guarantee
We aim to have your website live within 7 days of our kickoff call. The 7-day window begins once you've provided us with the information we need to get started (business details, content, photos, etc.). If we don't meet this timeline due to a delay on our end, your first month is free. Delays caused by waiting on information or feedback from you do not count toward the 7-day window.
Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no hassle.
When you cancel:
Your website stays live until the end of your current billing period
After your billing period ends, your website is taken down
Payments already made are non-refundable (except under the 30-day satisfaction guarantee above)
To cancel, email us at ryley@tradeswebsites.ca. We'll confirm your cancellation and let you know when your site will go offline.
5. Website Ownership & Transfer
While You're Subscribed
You have full rights to use your website as a subscriber. We retain ownership of the design, code, and files until ownership is transferred to you.
Taking Your Website With You
If you'd like to take your website files and own them outright, here's how it works:
Subscribed for 12 months or more: Your website files are yours, free of charge. We'll provide everything you need to move to another host.
Subscribed for less than 12 months: You can buy out the remaining months to reach 12 months total, and the files are yours. For example, if you cancel after 8 months, the transfer fee would be 4 × $97 = $388.
If you choose not to transfer, your website is taken down at the end of your billing period and is not available for download.
What You Receive on Cancellation (Without Transfer)
If you cancel without purchasing a transfer, we can provide your content (text, images, and other materials you supplied) upon request. The website design, code, templates, and frameworks remain the property of TradesWebsites.ca.
After Transfer
Full ownership of the design, code, and content transfers to you
You're free to host it anywhere and modify it however you'd like
We're no longer responsible for the site's performance, security, or maintenance
6. Content & Copyright
Your Content
When you provide us with text, photos, logos, or other content for your website, you retain ownership of that content. By providing it to us, you grant us permission to use it on your website and in our portfolio (unless you ask us not to).
Content You Provide
You represent that any content you provide to us (photos, text, logos, etc.) is either owned by you or you have the right to use it. You're responsible for ensuring you have proper rights to content you send us. We are not liable for copyright claims arising from content you provide.
Content We Source
When we source images or create copy for your website, we use properly licensed stock photography and original writing. We take reasonable care to ensure all content we create or source is properly licensed for commercial use.
Portfolio Use
We may feature your website in our portfolio, marketing materials, and case studies to showcase our work. If you'd prefer we don't, just let us know and we'll remove it.
7. Website Uptime & Availability
We use reliable third-party hosting infrastructure to keep your website online, and we monitor site performance to address issues quickly. However, like any online service, we cannot guarantee 100% uninterrupted uptime.
Occasional downtime may occur due to:
Hosting provider maintenance or outages

DNS propagation or domain-level issues
Emergency security updates
We commit to resolving any known issues as quickly as possible and communicating with you if your site is affected. We are not liable for any lost revenue, leads, or business resulting from website downtime.
8. Your Responsibilities
As a subscriber, you agree to:
Provide accurate and truthful business information
Ensure you have the rights to any content you provide us
Keep your payment information up to date
Not use your website for anything illegal or harmful

We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees you've paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim
This doesn't limit any rights you have under Canadian consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
10. Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your service if:
Payment remains unresolved for more than 30 days
Your website is used for illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purposes
You violate these Terms of Service
We'll always try to reach out and resolve issues before taking any action.
